The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington was closed today after a security officer used chemical spray to thwart the assault of another when about 150 people converged to protest the use of drones.

Security guard dead, 5 others wounded in shootings across Chicago- Chicago Tribune, Chicago, IL
A security guard was killed on the West Side and at least five others wounded Thursday night in separate South Side shootings, according to police. The 51-year-old guard was shot about 9:40 p.m. in the parking lot of the Save-A-Lot grocery store in which he worked in the 5500 block of West North Avenue in the North Austin neighborhood, authorities said.

Surely, our city and county leaders are not so turf-minded that they can't find a way to cooperate on this one little area that could hurt workers making low wages and who could be forced to pay two different licensing fees just for the right to hold a barely-above-minimum-wage job.
