A security officer in my office building in the Los Angeles area wants to obtain her FQ permit. She has shopped around and has been told that the training and permit will cost about $450.00. This seems a little high to me, but it may be well in line with the industry standard.
QUESTION: Who knows of the LOWEST rates for a licensed security officer to obtain the FQ Training and permit?
The following are the charges that are set in stone for a FQ:
$80.00 - BSIS Application Fee
$38.00 - Firearm Eligibility Application *
$32.00 - DOJ Background Fee *
$19.00 - FBI Background Fee *
* - Paid with Livescan fee at time of scanning
So basically you are looking at $169.00 not counting whatever Livescan charges, the initial class and subsequent qualifications will cost.
