Phoenix police say a security guard at a west Phoenix Walmart was shot in the leg during a purse-snatch Monday afternoon.

City hospital beefs up security - Lebanon Daily News, Pennsylvania

The Good Samaritan Health System has made some improvements to its security systems in recent months.  Hospital spokesman William Mulligan said the improvements have been in the works for several months and were not prompted by any particular incident. Instead, they are part of an ongoing program. 

Deputy walks in on robbery at CVS - KHOU, Houston

An off-duty Fort Bend County deputy was forced to open fire Monday morning when he walked into a robbery at a CVS.
